Content after city2cities

After city2cities my head is full of ideas. I want to write but my house needs my attention, so do the children. In the bus to the hospital I wrote in my booklet. I often write when using public transportation. I sent two short stories that I wrote this week. I hope one will be published (in Dutch). I'm not at the level that I win first prizes. I'm in the peloton. Can I be in the peloton for longer stories? There is only one way to find out, practice. Very short stories can be written in between doing laundry and shopping. While cleaning I feel the pull of wanting to write. Maybe it's better to distance myself from writing a bit and being busy with my hands.
In the background of my thoughts I think about improving my writing skills with lessons or with a coach. I can ask a coach to look at how I write and to give me specific training. But it costs much more than a course.
I have learned from feedback this month that my content is good but that my style could be better. At the writers forum I visit I see how other writers progress and notice their style improves through practice. At some point they start winning prizes, then they try to write articles. After a while they want to publish a book. When they continue, eventually they get published. My content is worth the effort.

british tool for script-writing

I ought to clear more space in my computer for this tool that looks useful for writing scripts for television and movies. And then? What kind of a script would I write? an educational one? Would I use it for my children? Very possible.

mindspecs

I wrote a book this summer. I started writing in 3 languages and ended with two manuscripts, one Dutch and one English. The subject of my book is knitted into the posts on my blog. I'm choosing to be openly mysterious about it until I have a "yes" from a publisher. Another reason for mystery is that I think there should be more little cognitive challenges in live in general. More puzzles to make you think faster. My book however is written to clarify. It is my intention that after reading my book, suddenly you read my blog and experience the world around you and your relationships sharper and clearer, as if you were wearing some new kind of mindspecs.

wednesday, schools out.

This is my first post. Hello, I'm a mother and the weather is very good here in the North of the Netherlands. The hottest november in 300 years. We just had voting day last week and I wasn't happy about the polarisation that took place.
I'm also a writer about a psychological subject: thinking. I just finished writing the manuscript and I already have a problem. Someone wants my advice on my subject: conceptual thinking. It's about her child that has problems at school. The story sounds like one on underachieving. But there is also another angle to it.
Why isn't my book published yet? I have people who want to buy it... I have a publisher reading the manuscript in Belgium, and one form filled in at a New York agency. My sister was an au-pair for a year at New York. But as I understand it, it is important to have a platform, this is a word that I find an example of a fuzzy concept.
What's a platform? I searched for the answer to this question and found the answer at http://misssnark.blogspot.com/2006/11/platform-2.html
My speciality is how to help the development of children. Learning problems related to high intelligence.
Feel free to ask questions. The subject of my book is typically also interesting for adults. E.g my brother in law was interested and he works in hightech design.
But in the mean time I'll be a rolemodel for Europeans who prefer to publish non-fiction in American English.
