from parent chores to readership
La rentrée des classes is French for returning to school after summer. I don't know how you say this in English, because I used to go to a French speaking class in the Netherlands. Now all my children are at school, and it looks like I'm busier than ever. There are piles of laundry that are clean but need to be carried upstairs, there is some administration I should mind, I promissed to change my e-mail address, I want to write the article I promissed to write, because I don't like to do everything at the last minute anymore. And there is paperwork concerning my children's new school. Suddenly I have all children at another school and these schools are cooperative at this moment.
In between I searched the web for my blog with hotbot msn search and found out that someone had thanked me for an idea from my blog. This search site enables you to find sites that link to you. What I found out is that the list is different for different searching engines. It can be useful to know who links to you to get an idea if you're writing attracts the readership that you're looking for. Many readers may be writers, after all.

Hello, Odile!
Thanks for your comment on my gorgeous new granddaughter! "Smug" isn't a word I'd thought of, but as I look at the picture, I think you are right...so does her mother. I look forward to reading your blog, as a parent, grandparent, and would-be writer. Best wishes, Bilbo.
Thanks Bilbo!
I think we have many common interests.
(1) children
(2) thinking
(3) writing
I'm curious about you opinion.
Also I was drawn to your picture. I'm all for continuing to discover the world as adults, it's so Socrates, Feuerstein, Piaget, ...
The list of the activities of life seems to grow exponentially. Sometimes I chafe at the chores since I feel that they are not my "real work". Eventually, though, something clicks and I settle in again able to do work in all the various areas of interest and devotion. A priest at a church that I visited recently said a prayer like "may we work without anxiety but with constancy"...I must inquire about the exact wording as it was lovely and touching.
Bonne chance avec votre affaires...hopefully they'll be done before you know it!
Meilleurs voeux!!
Thanks for visiting, Bluevicar!
I also enjoy praying, but it takes the form of thinking and evaluating what I do and why. What I think of what's happening and why. My most important parameters are: wisdom, harmony and mildness. A good friend gave me those.
My daughter is back to there. She is in the best of care with my dear friend and her palls. She is free to moove.
The pile of clean clothes diminished and then grew again. I've this week planned to tidy and clean the house.
This is where I should be less perfectionist and just get it done.
There is no perfect cleaning, anyhow.
I want to write posts about thinking again...
